About The Event
Join us at Somerfest this year in Goodland Gardens Taunton Somerset ; where we will be bringing you our biennial DUCK RACE.
The duck race takes place once every two years using 10,000 plastic ducks ‘swimming’ a course on the river tone in Taunton. Each duck has a unique number and the first three ducks to cross the finish line win a prize. The ducks are launched into the river and then the river current and wind decides which one gets to the end first.
In essence this is a lottery using a novel idea; where each duck is classed as a unique numbered lottery ticket. Each duck number is sold for £1.00. Ducks can be purchased, via the link above, via one our volunteers, via The CRUK Shop in Taunton and on the day at Goodlands Garden.
